Registration and Further Information

The cultural and humanities disciplines are characterized by a wide variety of research topics. The first meeting of the “Digital Humanities Think Tank” will focus on video games as cultural objects. The session will be based on the extensive “Steam Dataset 2025,” which contains more than 200,000 video games of all kinds. Following an introduction to the dataset, Marius Bommert from the Dortmund University Library will demonstrate potential approaches for an exploratory analysis using text and data mining. In a panel discussion followed by a Q&A session, Sascha Pöhlmann, Professor of American Literature and Culture at TU Dortmund University, will then introduce the field of game studies.
