Fees and Fines

• overdue fines
  • up to 10 days: € 2 per item
  • up to 20 days: € 5 per item
  • up to 30 days: € 10 per item
  • from the 31st day on: € 20 per item
    and a one-time handling fee of € 25 if the loan period is exceeded by more than 40 days
  • short loan: per item per calendar day 2 €
    and a one-time handling fee of € 25 if the loan period is exceeded by more than 10 days
• loss of an item: € 25 handling fee for replacement of the item plus the cost of the item to be replaced
• account blocking
  • your account will be blocked automaticallyIhr Konto ist automatisch gesperrt
    • if it is overdrawn by more than 30 €
    • if you fail to pay overdue fines within one month, regardless of the sum! If your account is blocked, you cannot borrow or reserve books, renew the loan period (even the automatic renewal does not work) or order items via interlibrary loan.

Interlibrary Loan Fees

• A fee of € 1,50 per interlibrary loan request will be charged. This processing fee is due even if the order cannot be completed.
• If copies of articles/chapters ordered exceed 20 pages, additional costs may be charged. The exact amount is determined by the library fulfilling the order.
• The costs for interlibrary loans will be charged to your library account, please pay promptly. From 30 € fees your account is automatically blocked.
• Interlibrary loan fees are charged in accordance with the Leihverkehrsordnung (LVO), amended by the order about the Anwendung der Leihverkehrsordnung vom 19.02.2003 (LVO) und Regelung der Auslagenerstattung (Order 214 - 5.02.10.12 of June 8, 2005) of the NRW Ministry of Innovation, Science, Research and Technology.

Scans

• we offer overhead scanners and feed scanners for self-service scanning free of charge.
• scan service: scans are made by the Digitisation Department, mostly for rare books and interlibrary loans which are to be read in the reading room only
  • 35 Cents per page (DIN A 4)

Copies

Digitisation Department of the University Library

• self-service copying at the Digitisation Department of the University Library: DIN A4 15 cents; DIN A3 30 cents
• commissioning copies to be made by the Digitisation Department: DIN A4 35 cents; DIN A3 50 cents
