The open access platform TUDObooks offers TU Dortmund University researchers the opportunity to publish academic e-books (monographs or edited volumes) free of charge and open access. It uses an instance of the open source software Open Monograph Press (OMP) hosted by the NRW University Library Center. The University Library supports the creation of the e-books and ensures worldwide visibility and permanent availability of the published content. Each publication, and in the case of edited volumes each article, is given its own Digital Object Identifier (DOI) as a persistent identifier.

In addition, the University Library automatically handles the mandatory submission of publications to the German National Library.
