Using the Library from Home

You can access a large number of electronic resources off campus if you are affiliated to the TU Dortmund. For authentication as a TU Dortmund member you need a VPN client or you use the institutional login (Shibboleth), which we can now offer for most publishers. Without being affiliated to the TU Dortmund, you have no access off campus.

Background: when accessing an e-book, the publishers check the requesting IP address for affiliation to TU Dortmund University. This is the case:

when accessing from the TU Dortmund LAN network
when using the VPN client Ivanti Secure (standard configuration) - Service portal: VPN

Non-members of TU Dortmund University (External users)

Everyone not affiliated to the TU Dortmund has access to our licenced electronic resources within the library at our computer workstations - no access off campus.
