WRDS, CompuStat, OSIRIS and DAFNE: New Business and Financial Databases

From now on, university members of TU Dortmund University have access to an outstanding range of company and financial data for research and teaching with DAFNE and WRDS incl. CompuStat, OSIRIS and numerous other databases:

DAFNE The DAFNE database provides current and historical financial statement information for approximately 800,000 German companies.

WRDS Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS) is a platform in which numerous business databases can be brought together in a structured way under a single interface and searched, linked and stored in a uniform manner. The license of TU Dortmund University is provided by the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences.

Access:

  • Access is available to members of the TU Dortmund University after registration with their UniMail address. Please note that the accounts of scientific employees are initially set to a duration of two years and can be extended after expiration if necessary. For an adjustment to your actual contract duration, please send us a proof to the journal processing.
  • External doctoral students, visiting scholars, and master's students, in addition to registering, please send an informal confirmation from the supervising chair to the journal processing department.
  • Students can use the database for personal scientific purposes via a "Class Account", which is announced by the lecturers in the course, or via "Day Pass" after registration with their UniMail address. Master students can get a personal access in agreement with the supervising chair, see above.
