Web of Science in a new look and Impact Factor 2020

The new Web of Science promises not only a general visual overhaul, but also a faster search.
The bibliometric data of the Web of Science is now available via a new interface. The provider Clarivate has also worked on the "under the hood" so that the search and editing of hit lists has been significantly accelerated.
An info box at the bottom right of the screen helps you take your first steps in the new interface. Clarivate also offers numerous video tutorials, how-to guides, and live and recorded webinars for orientation.
There are also new features in the Journal Citation Reports: The Impact Factor 2020 has just been published. Clarivate also offers the Journal Citation Indicator (JCI), an additional indicator to help evaluate journals. Unlike the Impact Factor, the JCI is field-weighted and thus allows - to a certain extent - comparisons between journals from different disciplines. Moreover, it is not only calculated for journals from the Science and Social Sciences Citation Index, as is the case with the Impact Factor, but it is also available for journals from the Arts & Humanities Citation Index as well as the Emerging Sources Citation Index.
By the way: There is also news for the bibliometric database Scopus. As of now, the evaluation tool SciVal is available for the Scopus data for a test period of two years. SciVal allows flexible evaluations such as the targeted search for suitable cooperation partners in research and industry, the identification of topic trends in individually definable subject areas, and much more.
