(Not only) Artists first: Database „Artists of the World“

Artists of the World, the world's largest database of international artists and artist groups, was previously known as the Allgemeines Künstlerlexikon (AKL). The reference work already covers all genres and periods of art with more than 1.2 million entries and is constantly updated.

From the end of 2022, the reorganized database will additionally cover thematic focal points (e.g. African art or contemporary architecture) and contain information on the places of activity and networks of the respective artists and groups.
