Specialist literature comprehensive, direct, fast and location-independent - that is the goal of the new Specialist Information Service (FID) Educational Science and Educational Research.

Subject information services for science are intended to strengthen and improve the information infrastructures for research. To this end, services are developed within a scientific discipline that are intended to benefit the respective scientific community. They serve as a useful supplement to the supply by scientific libraries.

The project "Fachinformationsdienst Erziehungswissenschaft und Bildungsforschung" (Specialized Information Service for Educational Science and Educational Research), which is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), is now using the Fachportal Pädagogik with the literature database FIS Bildung as a platform for its services. The subject portal has already been a well-known and important tool for research and teaching for years, but is now to be expanded much more intensively and thus become the central starting point for the supply of information in educational science and educational research.

A selection of new services that are already being offered:

  •  Orders "on demand" of specialized literature published abroad that is not available at any German library.
  •  Digitization of historical sources
  •  Licensing or purchase of foreign journals
  •  Provision of journals as national licenses
