The German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA) and TU Dortmund University demonstrate, with a focus on real-world applications, how patents, trademarks, designs, and other intellectual property rights can help effectively protect technical innovations, exploit them commercially, and secure long-term competitive advantages.

The 2026 Innovation Roadshow at TU Dortmund University provides practical knowledge on protecting and commercializing technical innovations through patents, trademarks, designs, and other intellectual property rights.

  • When: September 9, 2026, starting at 3:30 p.m.
  • Where: In the Mechanical Engineering III building ( Baroper Str. 303, 44227 Dortmund) on South Campus

The event starts at 3:30 p.m. with workshops. The workshop on the Dortmund IP Transfer Model is specifically aimed at research staff and professors at TU Dortmund University. In addition, TU Dortmund University will be represented by Prof. Daniel Rauh from the Chair of Chemical Biology at the panel discussion moderated by Vice President Finance Prof. Gerhard Schembecker.

Along with Peter Berg (Infineon Technologies AG), Dr. Bernd Burchard (Elmos Semiconductor SE), Michael Ullrich (BILSTEIN SERVICE GmbH), Dr. Linh Phan (MURTFELDT GmbH & Co. KG), and Holger Welsing (KHS Group), renowned IP and innovation experts from the business world will also participate as speakers, panelists, and event partners.
