Funding for Open Access Publications for the Years 2025–2027

Open Access

The German Research Foundation (DFG) will once again provide financial support for open access publishing at TU Dortmund University over the next three years.

During this period, the University Library (UB) will pay the article processing charges (APCs) incurred by TU Dortmund University researchers in full if their publications appear in genuine ("gold") open access journals. The condition is that the journals are listed in a positive list of the respective department.

Dortmund University Library also supports open access publishing in hybrid journals, provided that these are so-called transformation contracts. These aim to convert subscription-based journals into gold open access journals. Authors or institutions then pay for publication in the respective journal, and no longer - as was previously the case - readers who access the journal content.
